PURDYLUCEY is seeking a motivated Trainee Patent Attorney to join our growing biotechnology team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a science graduate who is looking to build a career at the intersection of science, innovation and intellectual property. Working alongside experienced patent attorneys, you will assist clients in protecting cutting-edge inventions across the life sciences sector.
We are looking for candidates with a strong academic background and a genuine enthusiasm for innovation and problem-solving. A degree, Master’s or PhD in biotechnology or another relevant life sciences discipline (such as biochemistry, immunology, microbiology or genetics) is essential, together with a genuine interest in innovation, technology and intellectual property.
Research or industry experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
Training as a Patent Attorney is demanding but immensely rewarding. We’re looking for individuals who are analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with a willingness to learn and a drive to see projects through to completion.
Successful candidates will work towards qualification as Irish, UK, and European Patent Attorneys. To prepare for these examinations, trainees receive in-house tuition and mentoring from our experienced Attorneys, as well as access to external revision courses. No prior knowledge of patent law is required.
These roles are based in PURDYLUCEY’s Dublin office, with some hybrid working available.
Please send your CV and cover letter to directors@purdylucey.com or apply below. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
