Nicoleta Sinevici
Prior to starting in PurdyLucey, I was a cancer researcher focusing on precision medicine. I received a PhD in Cancer Biology from Trinity College Dublin. After completing my PhD, I joined Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital as a postdoctoral fellow in molecular imaging of cancer. My primary research interest focused on understanding molecular mechanisms behind therapeutic failure in cancer and translating these findings into novel imaging and therapeutic targets.
My work has also integrated the exciting area of digital computational research in Queen’s University Belfast, where I gained formal qualifications. Here, I investigated mechanisms of resistance in rectal cancer, specifically trying to answer why certain patients respond poorly to standard of care treatment and characterize the molecular signalling mechanisms that underpin this. The overall aim was stratification of patients to the correct treatment and in this process avoiding overtreating, undertreating or mistreating.
I am excited to begin a new chapter of my life as a Patent Attorney and look forward to working on the latest developments.
