Senior Associate + Patent Attorney

Naoise Gordon is a European, UK, and Irish Patent Attorney and an Irish and European Trade Mark and Design Attorney, with over 30 years’ experience in intellectual property. He began his career in 1988 after graduating with an honours degree in Analytical Science from Dublin City University. His early work in private practice focused on the mechanical, chemical, and biological fields before he joined the patent department at Unilever plc. There, he managed global IP portfolios and enforcement strategies across high-profile consumer brands including Calvin Klein, Dove, and Elizabeth Arden.

Naoise has extensive experience in original patent drafting, prosecution, and enforcement, and regularly advises on portfolio management, IP strategy, due diligence, risk assessment, and patent litigation. His technical expertise spans pharmaceuticals, surfactants, drug delivery, microbiology, medical devices, packaging, and agricultural machinery. He has represented clients before the EPO in oppositions and appeals and has advised a broad client base from multinational corporations to innovative SMEs. Outside of work, Naoise is a devoted Shih Tzu owner and a committed—if occasionally unsuccessful—gardener.

Naoise is recognised in IAM Patent 1000 and IP Stars.
