Niamh is a Trainee Patent Attorney at PURDYLUCEY with a background in biomedical research across both academic and industry environments. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Galway and spent time as a visiting researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology during her doctoral studies.
Her research focused on the development of mechanically active materials to modulate and overcome the foreign body response associated with medical implants, with a particular emphasis on drug delivery implants for the treatment of type 1 diabetes.
Prior to joining PURDYLUCEY, Niamh worked as a Research Engineer for a multinational medical device company, where she was involved in the development of new electrosurgical instruments and technologies.
